Importing a TXT File

Requirements:

• A plain text (.txt) file
• Character names must appear in ALL CAPS before their dialogue
• Dialogue can follow on the same line after a colon, or on the next line

Format example:

ROMEO: But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
JULIET
It is the east, and Romeo is the sun.

Steps:

1. Click Import Script on the Dashboard
2. Select the TXT tab
3. Click to upload your .txt file
4. Click Import — characters are detected automatically

Tips:

• If a character name isn't detected, check that it's fully capitalised (e.g. HAMLET, not Hamlet)
• Stage directions in parentheses on their own line (e.g. (exits stage left)) are skipped automatically
